Covid-19 Relief Project at the Kuchingoro IDP Camp – April 2020

One of the major effects of this pandemic is lack of access to essential items like food especially among the vulnerable population. Micro-business owners and workers earning daily wages took a hit as their earnings were greatly affected as a result of the lock down measures by the government.

Putting all these into consideration, we reached out to 130 women and their families at the Kuchingoro IDP camp and the host community in April 2020. Each relief pack had portions of Rice, Garri, Noodles, Sachets of Tomato Puree, Groundnut Oil and Sugar with the generous donation from some amazing humans. We made the women stand in orderly lines while observing social distancing and ensured the elderly women were seated and given priority.

The coordinator for the women, Ladi Matthias expressed their gratitude on behalf of the women as they were super stoked to be reached out to by the fountain. They kept showering praises and thanks to everyone that contributed in making the outreach possible.
